Aims and Scope

 

Journal of Biomaterials publishes Original Research, Review, Literature review, Conference proceedings, Case reports, Short communication, Thesis, Letter to the editor, and Editorials sharing in all sections of Biomaterials. 

 

JBI concentrates on cancer therapy, artificial ligaments and tendons, orthopaedic for joint replacements, bone plates, and ophthalmic applications in contact lenses, for wound healing in the form of surgical sutures, clips, nerve regeneration, in reproductive therapy as breast implants, etc. Non-medical applications such as to grow cells in culture, an assay of blood proteins in laboratories, etc. are also encouraged.

 

JBI is dedicated to publishing research advances across the entire life sciences field that is focused on understanding the behavior of living systems and their components. Studies on the biological, biochemical, physical and chemical influences on the interactions of biomaterials within biological systems, as well as their clinical applications are particularly encouraged. Research studies conducted in the laboratory, in vivo, and in clinical settings are welcome.

 

The themes of the journal are diverse and include biocompatibility, tissue engineering, drug delivery systems, biosensing, nanotechnology, cell-materials interactions, tissue remodelling, gene therapy, medical implants, scaffolds, 3D printing, and biocomposites. Manuscripts covering these topics should contain original work that is of significance to the biomaterials community.

 

The goal of JBI is to disseminate the latest findings in the field of biomaterials, from basic science to clinical applications. We further believe that this article-based format provides a platform for rapid dissemination of new research and provides a venue for discussion. 

 

We firmly believe that open access publishing is an important mechanism of scientific communication and encourages authors to submit their manuscripts to JBI. 


We provide a platform for the cross-fertilization of ideas and collaborations among different disciplines, and we strive to promote the advancement of science in this field. We hope that JBI will open doors to new advances in research and provide a forum for discussion and collaboration.
