The Journal of Death (JOD) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that focuses on the critical study of death and its associated topics. We welcome the submission of manuscripts from scholars and experts in the field, both from the humanities and social sciences. 

 

Mission

JOD provides an academic platform for those who wish to discuss and explore death from a variety of perspectives including medical, philosophical, and religious. Whether it is a look at what happens during the dying process, an analysis of the medical and ethical implications of death, or a discussion of the implications of society’s attitudes toward death; JOD provides a unique opportunity for individuals to study and reflect on this fascinating subject.

 

Submission Process

All submissions can be done at our Online Manuscript Submission System. Authors are requested to submit their articles directly to Online Manuscript Submission. If you have difficulty in filling the online form, you can also send us via e-mail as an attachment to the Editorial Office [email protected] or “chat with us” by clicking the blue button at the left corner of the page.

 

Instruction for Author

Before submitting their work, authors should read through the author guidelines carefully. This includes information about our copyright and publishing policies, formatting guidelines, and the JOD journal's peer-review process. We require authors to submit their manuscripts in electronic form as well as cover letters, signed copyright and publication policies, and conflict of interest forms. Authors should also include a statement of originality and a brief biography. 

 

Authors are invited to publish their scholarly contribution by submitting their manuscript to JOD. Submissions to the journal will be accepted in the form of either an original manuscript or review article. All papers submitted to the journal will undergo a rigorous peer review process, and the submitted papers must imply a signature of originality and innovation on an international level. The published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. 

 

Article processing charge

JOD is a self-supporting journal and does not receive funding from any institution/government. Hence, the operation of the journal is supported by the processing fees received from the authors. Processing fees are required to meet operational expenses. 

 

Editorial Board

JOD gives a global platform to experts in the field of death to share their invaluable knowledge and perspectives. The journal is managed and published by Open Access and the Editorial Board includes some of the most prominent international experts in the field. The members of the Editorial Board have extensive experience and expertise in various aspects of death-related research and practice. The Editorial Board is primarily tasked with ensuring that all articles published in JOD are of the highest quality, are evidence-based, and adhere to the journal’s ethical standards. 

As an open-access journal, the Journal of Death (JOD) offers free access to all of its articles. This allows readers to access their content anytime and anywhere, making it easy for researchers and practitioners to keep current with the latest developments in the field.
