Biography:

Yang Chen is now serving as an Associate Director of Statistics at Takeda. He earned his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2018. Yang led the statistical work across multiple disease areas, including Plaque Psoriasis (PsO), Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD), Transfusion-Dependent Beta-Thalassemia (TDT), Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), and Huntington’s Disease (HD). His statistical research areas of interest include adaptive design, umbrella/basket trial design, pediatric drug development, external information borrowing, subgroup identification, variable selection, surrogate endpoint validation, count data analysis, safety signal detection, goodness-of-fit testing, and statistical distance.
